Dr. Varnell has served her local homeschooling community for decades. She has directed choirs and helped with homeschool youth groups. She has been serving for the last few years as the popular upperclassmen advisor for the homeschool umbrella school: Mt. Sophia Academy in Newark, Delaware.

In her job as academic advisor, Barb helps teens of many kinds of giftedness be ready for their next steps in life. She is especially gifted in helping gifted teens (since all 3 of her daughters are intellectually gifted).
